Motorola announced the Droid Razr M , Droid Razr HD, and Droid Razr Maxx HD

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jess.

Motorola: Droid Razr M , Droid Razr HD, y Droid Razr Maxx HD.

Motorola Mobility, a unit of Google Inc, introduced three smartphones to compete with larger rivals such as Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co during the shopping season by the end of year festivities.

Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless carrier in the United States, will sell the  HD devices Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx and Droid Razr HD M, the companies said Wednesday.

The phones use Google's Android software.

Motorola phones were showed in a press event in New York, his first big meeting with the media since Google bought the company in May.

Google has said the phone maker will remain a separate unit and will produce less equipment than before.

The presentation was part of a series of launches of mobile devices across the industry before the beginning of the holiday season year end.

Previously, also on Wednesday, Nokia Oyj and Microsoft Corp. introduced its new phone, the Lumia 920, using the latest operating system Windows Phone.

Nokia did not announce any wireless carrier partner for your device.

Also expected to present on Thursday Amazon.com Inc's new tablet Kindle Fire, and Apple launched its latest version of the iPhone on September 12.

The Motorola Droid Razr Mobility HD has a screen of 4.7 inches with an image definition better than previous Motorola phones. Verizon Wireless announced the sale price, but said the device will be available in time for the holidays.

The Droid Razr M is a smaller more concerned consumer costs, with a 4.33 inch screen that covers most of the front of the phone. This unit is available for $ 99.99 when it goes on sale in Verizon Wireless stores next week.

The Droid Razr Maxx HD  will have similar features to the HD, but the battery life will be more extensive. Motorola promised that the device would work for 21 hours of phone calls or 13 hours of video playback.

The President of Google, Eric Schmidt, told the audience that consumers are now activating about 1.3 million Android phones every day.

Samsung, Motorola rival, is the largest manufacturer of phones with the Android system.

Verizon Wireless is a joint venture between Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group Plc.

ZTE to launch the Grand X IN with Intel processor, Motorola as well.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jess.

ZTE to launch the Grand X IN  Android with Intel processor. Motorola as well.

ZTE announced plans to launch an Android device powered by an Intel processor next month, following a partnership between the companies announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress this year.

The smartphone, called Grand X IN , is described as a flagship device, and will debut in Europe during September.

It will use the Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) version of Android, include a 4.3-inch screen and eight megapixel camera.

Silicon giant Intel is in the process of ramping-up its presence in the smartphone market, having previously lagged rivals such as Qualcomm, Samsung and TI.

In addition to the ZTE device, Motorola is expected to announce an Intel-powered device during September, having similarly announced a deal with the chipmaker earlier this year.

And several other Intel-powered devices have been announced in recent months. Operator Orange is offering a smartphone called San Diego, the first of its type to become available in Europe, which is believed to be manufactured by Taiwanese contract manufacturer Gigabyte.

Manufacturer Lava International has also announced an Intel-powered device targeting the Indian market, while Chinese player Lenovo is offering a smartphone for its home market.

Motorola to launch the Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD smartphones in October.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

According to Hothardware , Motorola is gearing up to launch its Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD smartphones in October.

They were told the Razr HD and Razr Maxx HD will sport the same feature-set, only the latter will ship with a bigger battery for longer battery life and will obviously be a little thicker as a result.

Some of the specifications could be: 720X1280 HD display, along with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.5GHz pushing the pixels.

Based on the leaked images at XDA Forum, Motorola's new phones will ride into town carrying Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) rather than Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

Motorola phasing out feature phone market.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

Motorola phasing out feature phone market.

Motorola Mobility reportedly plans to phase out from the feature phone market and may suspend its feature phone business by the end of 2012, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
It remains to be seen whether Motorola will also withdraw from the CNY1,000 (US$157) smartphone segment in China, since Google reportedly has been hoping that the handset vendor will switch its focus to the development of innovative products instead of counting on production based on economics of scale, the paper said.
Taiwan-based handset ODM Arima Communications, currently the primary production partner of feature phones and entry-level smartphones for Motorola, would be affected significantly by the vendor's next move.

Comment:
A hope for all Palm fans.

According to most of the Palm webOS users ,a new hardware design is what the Palm Pre 2 is needing. A new look. Other smartphones brands are showing bigger screens displays and virtual keyboards everywhere, loaded with dual core or upcoming 2Ghz processors and more storage than 16GB.

Palm webOS 2.0 is the greatest smartphone OS to come out there , but deserves a better hardware companion.

My best wishes to Larry and to HP/Palm.

Nokia and Motorola extended agreements for next LTE mobile networks.

Motorola Inc. and Nokia Corp., both of which make wireless handsets and other devices, said Friday they have extended existing licensing agreements to include next-generation high-speed cellular technology.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies said the agreements cover technologies such as LTE, WiMax and LTE-Advanced, different flavors of fast new mobile networks.

"This agreement also shows that the industry is making fast progress in resolving LTE licensing issues between the major patent holders," Paul Melin, a vice president at Finland-based Nokia, said in a statement.

Shares of Motorola edged up 3 cents to $7.99 in midday trading. Nokia's U.S.-listed stock slipped 10 cents to $10.86.

Motorola's Olympus MB860 gets certified for Bluetooth, UPnP and dual-band WiFi

What is the Motorola MB860?

It's hard to say for sure, but it could be one of the infamous Tegra 2 tablets that Motorola's been allegedly working on. Ameblo recently discovered that the MB860 had been certified for Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, and then noticed that the UPnP Forum had attached a curious codename -- Olympus -- to the device.

This is where things get fairly fuzzy, but Android and Me recently reported that the Olympus was one of two Motorola tablets in testing -- though it may not be the Stingray, as that supposed 10-inch device has an alphanumeric designation of its own: MZ600. For those of you inspired to go sluthing on your own, we've got a couple final notes. First, the Bluetooth SIG has already changed its MB860 filing to read BT0001, according to Google's cache. Second, though the WiFi interoperability certificate above reads "smartphone," that's notnecessarily true -- according to the Wi-Fi Alliance, Samsung's Galaxy Tab is a "phone" as well.
