According to The Korea Times, the Korean electronics giant released a newspaper advertisements in all major local publications on Monday, which has its Optimus G smartphone slice through a half eaten apple. An accompanying slogan read, "A moment's choice will decide your next two years", encouraging consumers to buy its products over the iPhone maker.
Recently released posters on majority of its stores owned by or affiliated with LG Uplus, also seemed to slam the iPhone 5.

They contained mocking phrases such as "iPhone 5? Really disappointing!" or "iPhone 5? It will stifle you the more you use it!", and other variants.

According to Kim Sang-pyo, an LG Uplus spokesperson, the posters contains facts on the iPhone 5, and is "not slander".

"It is just a fact that is has no NFC, no DMB. Its screen is comparatively small so that is also true. Other nuanced phrases are usually adopted for marketing. We are absolutely not targeting Apple as a company and the messages on the posters are not our official stance, Kim said.

U.S. District Court judge denied Apple's bid to ban a number of Samsung's devices.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jess.

A U.S. District Court judge denied Apple's bid to ban a number of Samsung's devices from sale in the U.S., a little more than a week after a hearing on the matter.

"The phones at issue in this case contain a broad range of features, only a small fraction of which are covered by Apple's patents," Koh wrote. "Though Apple does have some interest in retaining certain features as exclusive to Apple, it does not follow that entire products must be forever banned from the market because they incorporate, among their myriad features, a few narrow protected functions."
Apple declined to comment on the ruling, and Samsung did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Here's a full copy of the ruling:

CES2013: Samsung Teaser The World Awaits Something New.Video.

There is no doubt the official CES 2103 event will take place in Las Vegas in January 8-11, 2103 and Samsung is teasing on the video SOMETHING NEW  to come with at the event.

The more expected technology to come out from Samsung is a smartphone with flexible display.

Samsung is probably going to be the first manufacturer to release a phone with a flexible display in 2013, something it has been rumored to do by several sources over the past year. In 2011, a concept phone with the name Samsung Galaxy Skin appeared, which used a flexible display bent around a 1-inch cylinder for storage, giving us a basic idea of what a flexible screen phone could look like. An analyst for UBS has since speculated the next two generations of Galaxy S models, will have unbreakable and even possibly flexible and foldable displays by 2014. Samsungs close association with Universal Display will certainly pay off, should this be the case.

Other rumors arent so positive and have indicated Samsung has had problems manufacturing the screens, causing the launch to be delayed until later in 2013. Theres a chance well know more during CES 2013, where Samsung has teased that something innovative and exciting will arrive.

Japan: Fujitsu launches the ARROWS Tab F-05E 10.1-inch tablet with NTT Docomo.

Fujitsu has announced the immediate availability of its new ARROWS Tab F-05E 10.1-inch tablet. Unfortunately for most of us, the slim, water- and dust-resistant, better-than-HD resolution Android 4.0 mobile computing unit is being released through NTT Docomo in Japan only.

Similar in many ways to the company's Stylistic M532, which was released in the U.S. in October, the ARROWS Tab F-05E also benefits from 32 GB of onboard storage with a microSD card for expansion, an HDMI interface for connection to a big screen TV, 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN, and built-in stereo speakers. It's powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, too, but runs at 1.7 GHz and has a fifth low-power core that can kick in when running less demanding apps.

The 9.9 mm thick F-05E features a 10.1-inch, 1920 x 1200 resolution display panel, is the first Japanese tablet to be supplied with Dolby Digital Plus audio technology, and has been treated to a whopping 10,080 mAh battery that's compatible with high speed chargers. It's also been sealed against water and dust penetration to IPX5/8 standards.

The ICS tablet comes with a new switch-enabled smart fingerprint sensor for security-conscious enterprise users, and a Family Mode feature which allows users to switch to a home screen configuration that best suits individual needs and abilities.

There's also an enhanced version of Fujitsu's Human-Centric Engine that's capable of tailoring the tablet experience to the age of the user. It can customize the screen's color balance, for instance, to compensate for a decline in color sensitivity that comes with advancing years. Additionally, Clear Touch technology is reported to make touch-based operations a little more obvious.

Completing the tech specs checklist are 2 GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, support for Docomo LTE Xi high speed connectivity, the ability to wirelessly connect to DLNA-compliant devices, and an 8.1-megapixel rear-facing camera with an Exmor RS for mobile CMOS image sensor.

AT&T Motorola Atrix HD Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update now available.

AT&T Motorola Atrix HD Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update now available.

product image

On Friday, AT&T announced that the Motorola handset would be one many to get the Jelly Bean update as of late. This over-the-air update will bring features such as Google Now and Android beam to the 4.5-inch smartphone. Its also worth noting that this is AT&Ts fourth device to operate on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

ATRIX HD is the fourth phone from AT&T to run Jelly Bean, joining the Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X+.

Android 4.1 makes your phone easier to use and more powerful than ever.  The many new features include Google Now, which generates real-time notifications on weather, traffic, nearby transit systems, local restaurants and places of interest, flight information, and live sports scores.
AT&Ts It Can Wait movement focuses on educating the public especially teens on the dangers of texting and driving. The goal is simple: save lives and make texting and driving as unacceptable as drinking and driving.  Devices like the Motorola ATRIX HD include features that make it safer to stay connected while driving, such as Drive Smart.
The Drive Smart action features the Enhanced Voice Search for a safer driving experience. The SMARTACTIONS Drive Rule will set the phone to auto-reply to calls and texts and enables hands-free conversations.
The updated notifications now group together updates from the same application, and also allows users to expand or collapse any notification. Customers will also be able to view the full text of an SMS message and the full photo of a MMS can be viewed in the notification window. Event notifications display more of the event description to let you quickly see relevant details without having to open the app.
Quick Settings is an easy way to get to your most often used settings with a swipe from the home screen.  Simply swipe to the left and you can quickly turn on/off Wi-Fi or drop into the detailed settings.  The new filmstrip mode in the photo gallery allows users to quickly view photos and delete from the gallery by swiping up or down. The improved camera focus gives users a signal indicating focus quality. Jelly Bean also lets users respond by text to missed calls with a single touch.
ATRIX HD customers can get the Android 4.1 update via Wi-Fi by going to Settings>About Phone>Software Updates on their phone.

Is December 21st the end of the world, NASA says not at all. Video.

Summary:
The Maya Calendar shows an end of a cycle according to the way they used to measure time in thousands of years.

Our christian calendar at least for  the west countries of the world measures time by years, that ends every December 31st and starts every January 1st.

Other speculations about earth shifting its axe, solar storm, planets alignament and a planet coming to crash with the earth, are  well dismissed and answered by a NASA expert on the video.

And that it`s. Don`t worry be happy. :)

Is the iPad mini retina display next?

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jess.

Is the iPad mini retina display next?

The speculation comes from Taiwan where market observers said it is highly likely based on the development of past Apple products such as the iPhone and 9.7-inch iPad series. Apple's next-generation iPad mini will focus mostly on enhancing the device's display resolution, with a 2058 by 1536 resolution and 326ppi.

In other news rumours from the same sources said Apple will restructure the lighting of the next-generation 9.7-inch iPad from two LED light bars to one in order to decrease the device's overall weight.

Wal-Mart iPhone5 and iPad for $127 and $399.-

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jess.

Wal-Mart iPhone5 and iPad4 for $127 and $399.-

Wal-Mart Stores Inc said on Friday that it began selling Apple Inc's flagship iPhone 5 smartphone at a big discount in thousands of its stores.

Wal-Mart said it is selling the 16 GB Apple iPhone 5 for $127, versus an original price of $189.97. The price is valid with a two-year contract from wireless carriers Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, the retailer added.

Wal-Mart said it is also selling the 16 GB iPhone 4S and the 16 GB iPad with Retina display and WiFi at discounts.

The offers will be available for 30 days in about 3,000 of Wal-Mart's stores, which were not identified. They are not available online, according to the retailer.

Apple has focused on high-priced, premium gadgets for many years and has strictly enforced its prices with retailers and other distributors. However, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman said on Friday that the discounts were arranged with Apple.

"We worked together with them on this," the spokeswoman, Sarah Spencer, said. "They are a great partner."

Wal-Mart is pricing the iPad starting at $399, down from $499. Beginning December 17 the retailer said it will throw in a $30 iTunes card.

Wal-Mart is selling the 16 GB iPhone 4S for $47, versus an original price of $89.97, it said.
