HP  Why a 7 inches Palm Pad ?

After watching the promo video http://worldwidegadget.blogspot.com/2010/10/palm-pre-hp-eprint-happy-baby.html of the HP e-print and these  pictures

of the HP printers with a detachable tablet , I expect a 7 inches  Palm Pad tablet . Sounds logic, HP business is about printers, laptops, notebooks, netbooks and. Now smartphones for this web interconnected age with the Palm Pre webOS .

All of these above mentioned devices have to come together  for e-printing, pairing and connecting each other, that is HP business in this sector of consumer electronics  which HP products covers.

A Palm Pad  10 inches wont fit on the HP printers, too big, but a Palm Pad  7 inches is an acceptable size.

Of course you will be able to carry this 7 inches Palm Pad anywhere for  enjoying your daily life with everything the Palm webOS 2.0 will bring to you and you will able to place that tablet on your HP e-print printer, anytime,  as well.

By the other way, maybe  you will see an incorporated  HP small touch board with some  Palm webOS apps on the printers to interact with your Palm Pre , the web and other devices.

Two options  for the consumer.

I dont see HP going to compete with the iPad or other tablet brand just in the tablets sector. But in a global business including all of their products above mentioned interconnected, yes.
