Kyocera introduces Zio�, its new smartphone equipped with an Android� OS, for the North American market.

Kyocera has released the compact and lightweight Zio� smartphone, which features an Android� OS and a 3.5-inch high-resolution WVGA touchscreen. Zio� supports CDMA2000 1.EV-DO Rev.A wireless communications, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and it has been sold to consumers in North America since August 2010.

 In addition to touchpanel convenience, operability is enhanced on this model thanks to touch-sensor buttons at its base, conventional call and hang-up buttons, and an intuitive trackball for navigation. Zio� also features a 3.2-megapixel camera as well as handy and easy-to-use widget applications such as YouTube� and Google Maps�. This stylishly designed phone measures 116 x 58.6 x 12.2mm and weighs only 105g, making it one of the lightest, thinnest Android devices in the world. Kyocera is committed to expanding its Android� smartphone lineup to further enhance its communications business operations.
